The agriculture, agri-food, and agri-based products sector in Canada is facing a variety of challenges. Our team has helped clients to tackle issues ranging from helping producers and processors develop innovative, value-added products and processes and benefit from evolving regulatory and trade policies, as well as addressing public trust, environmental sustainability, and animal welfare in production. We have also helped clients to understand the evolving roles of key players in the agriculture sector space, whether it is the federal government, provincial and territorial governments, the private sector, universities, or non-profit organizations.
Our services in the agriculture sector have included conducting program evaluations, including comparative reviews of similar programs in order to offer practical solutions to improve the efficiency and impact of programs; developing export market guides to help producers better understand how to capitalize on opportunities overseas; advising regulators about pricing models for supply managed sectors; and helping individual producers and agricultural associations to refine their business plan and marketing approach.
Examples of recent agriculture projects include: an Evaluation of the Harvest Sample Program; and an Evaluation of the Advanced Payment and Marketing Program on behalf of Agriculture and Agri-food Canada.
