Kate is an Evaluation Consultant with Ference & Company. Since joining in 2022, Kate has led and supported research and evaluation projects focused on a wide range of topic areas, including patient-oriented research, Indigenous health, substance use, and maternal and child health for government and non-profit organizations. She has a Master of Public Health Degree from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from Quest University Canada with a focus in Health Sciences. Prior to joining Ference & Company, Kate worked as a research assistant at a research lab focused on equitable access to high quality perinatal care, where she coordinated and contributed to multiple research projects in areas such as data management, ethics protocols, grant writing, coordination of multi-stakeholder analysis teams, and preparation of data visuals. Kate has also contributed to research and evaluation initiatives through a practicum at an evaluation consulting firm specializing in health research, and as a researcher and writer for a project focused on community collaborative action on climate change. She maintains a strong focus on community-led, participatory, and equity-driven practices in her work.
